The Challenges of Change : Expanding Diversity at Burnaby Village Museum Bryan, Molly
Abstract
This thesis explores the development of the historic site called Burnaby Village Museum, an open-air museum recreating how Burnaby might have looked in the 1920s. It examines the Chinese herbalist shop exhibit and the museum's use of costumes to understand how the museum evolved from a romanticized settler colonial pioneer village into a vibrant and inclusive depiction of Burnaby's history.
