Between Rules and Practice : Why We Need Practical Wisdom in Life, Work, and Politics Cameron, Maxwell A.

Description

The ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle believed that every activity or practice aims at some good. Knowing how to bring about the aim intrinsic to an activity calls for practical wisdom—the skill and know-how to do the right thing, at the right time, in the right way, and for the right reason. In this talk, Prof. Max Cameron uses Aristotle's insight to show how organizations can be created that foster practical wisdom in work, politics, community and everyday life, and how the failure to encourage practical wisdom can have tragic consequences.
