Understanding Climate Change Impacts on Marine Life Harley, Christopher David Grant

Description

Climate change has already affected natural habitats, and many species are living in different places or becoming more or less abundant. To understand how species are responding to climate change, Chris Harley argues that we need to understand the direct influence of environmental stress as well as changes in the way species interact with one another. On rocky intertidal shores, sea stars and their favourite prey, mussels, provide an excellent case study for disentangling the importance of warming, changes in river outflow, and shifting predator-prey interactions over time.
