Description

The conference paper provides an overview of the work done on a study leave in Europe in early 2009. The focus was to learn about IR’s in Europe. The questions I was pursuing were around how European IR’s have worked with researchers to obtain deposits of full-text papers, how networks occured in the various countries, and any projects that arose and the benefits to the participants. I was also interested in practices relating to data management and preservation. Finally I was interested in the organizational structure within universities that supports the IR work. The presentation also reports on work done at UBC up to 2009.
