Description	A notion of laminar groups was introduced by D. Calegari. A group acting on the circle by orientation-preserving homeomorphisms is called a laminar group if it admits an invariant lamination. Abundant examples arise naturally in the study of low-dimensional topology and geometric group theory. We will discuss how topology, geometry, and dynamics interplay when we study laminar groups. Some old and new results will be discussed as examples.
