Description	In this series of two talks we will explain the current state of the art concerning the problem of classifying "simple" 2-representations of Soergel bimodules. The first talk will introduce the asymtotic Hecke algebra and the asymptotic bicategory as well as their relationship. In particular, the asymptotic bicategories are well-understood in many cases, and this will be explained.
