Description	The Harish-Chandra/Itzykson-Zuber integral and its additive counterpart, the Brezin-Gross-Witten integral, play an important role in random matrix theory. I will present recent work which proves a longstanding conjecture on the large dimension asymptotic behavior of these special functions.
