Heterogeneous multiscale methods for delay differential equations Sanz-Serna, Jesús María
Description
Heterogeneous multiscale algorithms are methods designed to cope with the challenge of solving numerically problems with different temporal or spatial scales. The talk considers the case of delay ordinary differential equations subject to periodic forcing in cases where the solution has to be computed over long time intervals. We shall show two alternative techniques; one of them may achieve arbitrarily high orders of convergence with a computational complexity that is independent of the forcing frequency.
