50 years of L-systems Prusinkiewicz, Przemyslaw
Description
L-systems were introduced in 1968 as a formalism for reasoning about plant development. Soon afterwards, they became a tool for computational modeling of plants at the architectural level. In my talk, I will review the key conceptual contributions of the original formalism, the objectives of subsequent extensions, the resulting range of applications, and the current research problems spawned by L-systems.
