Description	Semigroup C-algebras have been studied for several classes of semigroups. In this talk, we focus on monoids given by particular presentations (i.e., generators and relations), with an emphasis on monoids defined by a single relation. We discuss structural properties of the corresponding semigroup C-algebras, and also K-theory.
