Description
I will first give a short presentation of the objectives and scope of the CGAL open source project. I will the recently added algorithms that are relevant for geometric modeling and simulation: point set processing, polygon mesh processing and mesh generation.
For each software component I will discuss the underlying design principles, show a live demo and explain how users can adapt and extend it to their specific needs. Finally, I will briefly review the existing projects for extending the mesh generation toolbox of CGAL.
