Explicit Galois representations Bruin, Peter
Description
This talk is about continuous representations of absolute Galois groups of number fields on finite Abelian groups. Typical sources of such representations include torsion subschemes of elliptic curves and Hecke eigenforms. Any such representation can be described by a finite amount of data. I will discuss theoretical and practical aspects of the following questions: what are suitable ways to explicitly write down Galois representations, what information can be extracted once this has been done, and how can the required computations be done efficiently?
