Finite time blowup for the two-dimensional harmonic map flow into $S^2$ Davila, Juan
Description
We study singularity formation in the harmonic map flow from a two dimensional domain into S2 and show that for convenient initial conditions the flow develops a type II singularity at multiple points in finite time. We also discuss the stability of this phenomenon. This is joint work with Manuel del Pino (Universidad de Chile) and Juncheng Wei (University of British Columbia).
