Memory and hypoellipticity in neuronal models Löcherbach, Eva

Description

I will discuss the effect of memory in two classical models of neuroscience, first the stochastic Hodgkin-Huxley model, considered in a series of papers by R. Höpfner, M. Thieullen and myself, and second, a model of interacting Hawkes processes in high dimension which has been studied recently by S. Ditlevsen and myself. I will explain why memory leads to hypoellipticity and then discuss the probabilistic and statistical consequences of this fact.
