Description	In this survey lecture we will discuss results which have been obtained on the eigenvalues of the Dirichlet to Neumann map for Riemannian manifolds with boundary. The discussion will include asymptotic behavior of the spectrum, geometric estimates on low eigenvalues, and problems on finding extremal metrics for the eigenvalues on surfaces.
