Scalable quantum computing architectures based on trapped ions Kim, Jungsang
Description
Besides being one of the most pristine qubits, the trapped ion technology provides novel ways to generate entanglement between ion qubits in the system. A technologically feasible architecture could enable construction of ion trap quantum computer systems on which a range of useful quantum algorithms can be effectively executed. We will discuss a scalable system architecture, a preliminary studies on the performance simulation on such an architecture, and experimental progress towards realization of a prototype system.
