Optimizing the slash supply chain for bioproduct production Rahmani Mokarrari, Kimiya

Description

Kimiya Rahmani Mokarrari was a finalist in the 2025 UBC Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition. Kimiya presented their research, “Optimizing the Slash Supply Chain for Bioproduct Production.” Every year, millions of tons of slash are burned in BC, releasing harmful emissions and wasting valuable natural resources. Kimiya’s research explores how we can transform slash into economically viable bioproducts through optimized supply chains and supportive policies, turning a major environmental liability into a sustainable opportunity. Kimiya Rahmani Mokarrari is completing their PhD in Forestry in the Department of Forestry under the supervision of Dr. Taraneh Sowlati.
