Tarek Ghoul was a finalist in the 2025 UBC Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition. Tarek presented their research, “Real-time Crash Risk and Its Applications.” This research uses real-time data and predictive modeling to estimate crash likelihoods before they occur, allowing for proactive interventions to improve road safety. Tarek Ghoul is completing their PhD in Transportation Engineering in the Department of Civil Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Tarek Sayed.
