Aysha Allard Brown was a finalist in the 2025 UBC Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition. Aysha presented her research, “Early Treatments After Spinal Cord Injury: Risk or Reward.” This research focuses on understanding the impact of early treatments, like blood pressure medications and blood thinners, on hemorrhage progression after traumatic spinal cord injury. The goal of this research is to help doctors personalize treatments to minimize bleeding and improve recovery chances for patients with spinal cord injuries. Aysha Allard Brown is completing her PhD in Neuroscience under the supervision of Dr. Brian Kwon.
