Foods and nutrition : a constructivist approach Dulder, Lorraine Laura
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to develop constructivist teaching strategies that could be applied to a foods and nutrition classroom. This paper explores constructivism as a theory of learning and the implications of adopting this theory for teaching specifically in home economics foods and nutrition classes. It includes my own experiences implementing the Constructivist Learning Cycle, a discussion of possible constructivist teaching approaches, and recommendations for future research and explorations of the topic.
